Cooke's Homework Policy
The purpose of homework is to reinforce (practice) skills that students have been learning in the classroom and to create study habits that will be required throughout their schooling. On average, homework should take the students the following amount of time:
K-1 = 10-20 minutes
2-3 = 15-30 minutes
4-5 = 20- 40 minutes
**All students will also be expected to read at home each evening in addition to the times listed above. Please also note that some homework will be project based or assigned on a computer.
If your child takes longer than the approximate times above, or struggles greatly with their homework, please contact your child's teacher.
MAKEUP WORK:
If you would like your child's homework because of absence, please notify your child's teacher via email or their classroom phone number. They will then be in contact with you regarding your child's work.
